Fazier #1 Product of the Day

A bought position, not a launch-day spike

Product Hunt rewards one day, then the algorithm decides who trends next. RepoRanker sells a position at a published price and you hold it until someone spends more than you did. The placement does not expire; its rank changes.

Read the rules

How we keep this honest

A board where rank is bought only works if the buying is visible. Four guardrails make that true on every row.

  • Every price is public.

The cost of every placement is shown on the row that bought it, and the full ladder is at /placements.

  • Placement funding is disclosed.

Card purchases, converted credits and grants are distinguished on the board, category pages and in the public API.

  • Only the owner can buy a spot.

Placements are bought through GitHub sign-in, and checkout rejects a repo you do not own. The rules are written out at /rules.

  • No subscription, no expiry.

You pay once. You hold the position until someone spends more than you, then you move down rather than off.

Common questions

How does buying a spot work?

Listing your repo is free. Paid placement starts at $3 and puts your repo above unpaid listings. Your placement does not expire, but your rank changes when someone spends more. No subscription or refunds. Every price is public.

What happens when someone spends more than me?

You move down one place. You never come off the board, and the price you paid stays on your row. To go back up, spend more than the row above you.

What stops someone from holding the top spot forever?

Nothing, and that is the point: position is the bid. Anyone can spend more at any time, and the price to pass the top row is printed on the board, not hidden behind a form.

Is it free to list my repo?

Yes. Submitting a repo and appearing on the board costs nothing. Where it sits is the part you buy, starting at $3.

Do reviews still matter?

You can still write and read reviews on RepoRanker. They do not earn anything, unlock anything, or move a repo up the board. Position is bought.

Jay Campbell

@thejaycampbell·Founder, RepoRanker

I built RepoRanker because the vibe-coding wave produced thousands of new builders shipping in public, and there was nowhere to buy attention for the actual work. GitHub is public but passive. Launch communities reward the moment, not the repo. RepoRanker is a straightforward, openly priced way to put your repo in front of people instead of begging the algorithm for a moment of visibility. Every price is public, every paid row is marked, and everything you don't buy is still ordered by a formula anyone can read.
